Rachel Henandez
Rachel began her professional studies in Salvador, Bahia. She has had the privilege tostudywith landmark masters such as: Mestre King, Jose Santos, Rosangela Silvestre, Vera Passos,Nildinha Fonseca, Matias Santiago, as well as at the Escola de Dança, Balé Folclórico da Bahia,and UFBA. She is skilled in Afro-Brazilian dance, Modern and Ballet. Rachel danced with mestreKings Grupo Genisis, Balá da Mata, Fusion Dance Company, Ballet Santa Barbara, MarinaMagalhes, and in the legendary production Saurê. She works for the Children’s Creative projectand LA's BEST Program introducing Afro-Brazilian dance to scores of elementary schoolchildren. elementary school children. She has choreographed for Ballet Santa Barbara, ViverBrasil and ballet folclorico do Brasil, Amalkoba nationally as well Capoeira Batuque Japao inJapan internationally. Shehas developed her signature Afro-Brazilian dance classes and ExtraAncestral Workshops being taught throughout LA County. She currently choreographs thedance component of Extra Ancestral and plays percussion with Bloco Obini.

Nanigo Bio’sNicoléa’s bio:Nicolea is a Southern California Dancer and Actor whose work bridges stage, song, and thevibrant pulse of Samba and Afro-Brazilian dance. She holds five national crowns in Samba,including Samba Queen USA and Female MalandroChampion.She drums with the all-female percussion ensemble Bloco Obini. Has danced on The MaskedSinger and NCIS, performed with Sergio Mendes and B.o.B., and taught Samba to VenusWilliams and the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team en route to Rio.Nicolea’s mission: ignite joy through culture, rhythm, and storyIG: @nicolea.pettis , @Sambaclass.LA
